Not Your Typical Campaign

January 28, 2014

Do you believe in free markets? Do you think the way to an economic recovery is through tax cuts and limited government, not more stimulus spending? Do you believe parents should decide where their kids go to school? Do you think teen girls should not be forced to share bathrooms and showers with teen boys? Are you pro-life? If you are, then you are not alone.

You see, I believe in free markets and free people. I want tax rates to be lower, not higher. I want businesses to stop leaving the state, so our young people can find jobs when they graduate. I believe in school choice, and also parental notification for teen girls. And I oppose the Democrat Party's efforts to give high school boys access to the girls' locker rooms.

I think the biggest obstacle we face as conservatives is the defeatism within our own party. There are a lot of people on our side who have given up. But I do not think ideas like freedom and limited government are ever worth giving up on. We need some new energy and inspiration within our party.

We may not be able to turn the tide overnight, but we can certainly turn the page. This is not your typical campaign. This is going to be one for the record books, where conservative ideas, clearly articulated with a good dose of optimism, were finally on the ballot. This is our chance to make a difference. Together, we can revive the conservative message in California. Let's get the word out!
